First Rhythms: Adam Manning and AAO at New Annual – 2nd October 2025

I can’t wait for this very special project with Adam Manning and the Australian Art Orchestra, for which I’ll be hitting the road for my first appearance in NSW since 2019! The piece is getting it’s first outing at the amazing New Annual festival in Newcastle this October.

Details and tickets here, and if you can’t make it to NSW, stay tuned for details of a follow up performance at MIJF.

Humanities by Laxlan Petras & the Australian Art Orchestra, TarraWarra Museum of Art – 4th October 2025

Aaron Choulai and the AAO are exploring a really cool method of improvising using a sono-kinetic conduction process, and we’ll be showcasing it in a very special show this October at the TarraWarra Museum of Art.

Also on the bill is a brand new experimental opera by Melbourne-born, Berlin-based Laxlan Petras.

Come along and check out some experimental music in a stunning setting. Details and tickets here

First Rhythms: Adam Manning and AAO at MIJF – 19th October 2025

After the honour of playing Adam Manning’s stunning new piece First Rhythms, with the man himself, up in Newcastle this October, we now we get to do it again at Melbourne International Jazz Festival. It’s an absolute honour to work on this project with so many extraordinary musicians, and to be a small part of Adam’s incredible piece coming to life.

Don’t miss it! Details and tickets here

exstasis at extrasensory – 25th October 2025

The extremely excellent Jess Aszodi is back in Oz after many years abroad, and she’s started a very special art space in Melbourne’s north, extrasensory. We’re honouring her achievement with a launch concert this October featuring experimental music by long-time colleagues and dearest friends James Rushford, Jodie Rottle, Jess, and me.

This is a really special one for me, not only because Jess and I have worked together for over two decades now (eep!), but also because Jess and I will be performing as our new duet project Amarant.

Don’t miss it! Tickets and details here
