To Kill a Magic We Got Used To at Athaneum (Sonic City), Australian Art Orchestra – 28th November 2025

In my second outing for AAO’s Sonic City project, we’re premiering an incredible new work by Aaron Choulai and Roman MC. The piece brings together elements of jazz, classical and hip-hop that connects creative music to a new generation. The band is totally killer, and should not be missed!

This one is ticketed, so make sure you book here to avoid disappointment.

JS BACH works for violin and harpsichord – 13th December 2025

In one of my final outings for the year, I’ll be joined by the inimitable Ann Morgan to present an entire concert of JS Bach works in the lovely Castlemaine Uniting Church Hall.

The programme includes a selection from the rarely performed Sonatas for Violin and Obbligato Harpsichord, as well as some solo works. The wonders of Bach’s chamber composition are well known, but I’m continually stunned by these Sonatas, as well as Ann Morgan’s skill in playing them. This is one not to be missed!

Tickets $30/$25 (under-18s free) available at the door or via Trybooking

Resonance String Orchestra Annual Concert – 22nd November 2025

The lovely Resonance String Orchestra is presenting their annual concerts this November, with some beauties on the programme. I’ll be joining for some Vivaldi and Mendelssohn, and there’s plenty more on the programme too!

Due to a combination of how great Resonance is, and how great our local community is by supporting its local music-making, these concerts usually sell out, so be sure to book here.

Messiah, Accademia Arcadia – 14th December 2025

It’s been a while since I’ve played Händel’s Messiah with various pandemic- and family-related sabbaticals over the past five years, so I’m really looking forward to doing it again this year, particularly with the lovely Lucinda Moon, John O’Donnell, and Accademia Arcadia.

It’s this December at St Dominic’s Camberwell, and the best bit is, you can come and sing along!
